Alex found his Valentine's cookie from Grandma Porter more interesting to smash than to eat. He had fun breaking it into pieces and brushing them on the floor. He got one from her last year also, but I got to eat it for him, it was a lot less of a mess.
Valentine monkey from Grandma Porter
Alex's valentine from Grandpa Phibbs, he got the lion cub from him also, but Alex threw it just as the picture was being taken and then decided he was done sitting there.
Margaret came over after we put Alex to bed and we were able to sneak out for some drinks and dessert. Thanks Margaret!
This is the first time (Tuesday) Alex acknowledged the deer in the backyard, it helped that they walked right past the window to get his attention. A few squeals were let out as they past by. They were pretty interesting for about a minute, then it was back to playing.
This is the new spot that Alex is often found as he makes laps around the coffee table, getting ready to walk on his own. He is getting really good pushing his "walker" around the house, attempting to steer it on his own yesterday. It won't be long he is walking around on his own.
He FINALLY said "mama" today after his accomplished words of "dada, kitty, truck, duck, turtle, and all done". Yeah, somehow I was ranked behind duck and turtle. I won't take it too personal though.
