Luke's 2nd Birthday

Alex helping with presents

I love this one!  I'm so glad it came out.  I was having some serious trouble with my camera.  I need to learn more about the various settings.  Most of them were looking really washed out like the one below.  They were all taken in the same location, with the same light and it was a cloudy day.
Daddy got him this bear.  He loves stuffed animals lately and definitely loves his new bear.

Why is this picture so washed out? Annoying!
Uncle Andy helping put together the pirate ship he gave Luke.
Giving bear a ride on the new bubble mover.

Batting at the balloon Grandma got him.
With his cake, of course made by his mommy.  This one took awhile.  I had some difficulty designing a train.
Luke loves chocolate cake!

We had a wonderful Easter.  The boys are at a great age now to enjoy it and show genuine excitement.

Easter Fun!

We had a busy day, yesterday, the day before Easter. We dyed Easter eggs in the morning.

Alex was really looking forward to this. He was so excited and so sad when it was all done.

Luke! He's too funny...Just having a good ole time. He was more sad than Alex when it was all over.

We went to an egg hunt before lunch and ate a picnic lunch there.

Looking for eggs

Alex took the outside approach and looked for eggs more in the weeds on the outskirts. He proved to not work so well, but didn't really matter, all the kids got the same prize.

Checking out their eggs after the hunt. There was no candy in the eggs. You returned the eggs for a goody bag. But, if there was a "winner" tag in your egg you got to pick a special prize. No special prizes with us, but the goody bag and treats from local businesses in the "hippity, hoppity trail was more than enough. I think we may have got more candy than we did for Halloween. Yikes!

We brought the cookies we made with Grandma Porter as a treat after our picnic lunch.

Carrots! Alex likes fruit and vegetables way more than candy or sweets. He will eat a minimal amount of sweets and ate the whole bag of carrots. Luke on the other hand LOVES sweets.

Showing off the tattoos they got in at the egg hunt. They like them for about two minutes and then wanted them taken off.

The speedy cake I made after the kids went to bed. I really didn't want to take too long, so I only used a spatula knife to ice/decorate the cake. I frosted, decorated and cleaned up in 20 minutes. It's not the best I made, but it did the trick in holding the bunny cake tradition.

Alex and Luke worked very hard making Easter cards over the past week. They came up with all different ways to make them and really did most of the work themselves. Alex did the ones on the right and Luke the ones on the left. We put them all in a gift bag and Alex was really good in remembering and passing them out to all of his aunts, uncles and grandparents. We had just enough.

The boys Easter baskets, lots of toys.
