Raspberry Picking

After a nap we went raspberry picking when dad got home from work. Packing in the activities before summer is over!

Gallup Park

A stop for lunch, as usual laughing with Theresa

Enjoying the view of the river while we eat our lunch

We met Theresa at Gallup Park before she had to go to class to get in perhaps our last rollerblading of the season. Have to take advantage of this perfect weather for our last few days of "summer".

Whistle While We Work

The past couple of days Alex began to "sing". He hummed since he was a baby, but now he "babble sings". Just about anything works as a drum too. Boy, is he going to love his music classes this fall! We are picking up the music tomorrow. They like you to learn the songs before the classes so everyone can be active participators. I just caught seconds of him while I was vacuuming, then he got distracted by the camera.

Phibbs/Collins Reunion

Great Grandma Phibbs (who was once a Collins)

Laughs with Theresa

This was at Theresa's birthday dinner last Sunday, but I forgot to post it then. Happy 21st Theresa!

Found Something Worth Feeding Myself

Well, Alex finally decided to pick up the fork and give it try. What do you know, success. Little stinker! Anything for grapes, right? I was feeding him mac and cheese with peas today and he wanted me to pick out the peas and feed only them to him. He wouldn't eat the noodles unless he saw some peas on the spoon. Crazy boy. Well, that makes my job easy, huh?

Born to Build

I finally took the time to record Alex building, but of course turned the camera the wrong way. I don't think I have the software to turn it, so you will just have to turn or head or the monitor. Sorry!

Another Buhr Pool Attempt

Throughout the summer Alex has not been too into water play. However, I took him to Independence Lake last Friday and he would not stay out of the lake. So, I figured I would give the pool another try. Alex still found many other things more interesting, including unstacking and stacking the chairs. After three attempts of me putting him in the water, he finally stayed put.

Ah ha, this pool playing is not so bad after all, good thing my mommy made me go in here.

Dumping water on Theresa is pretty fun too.

Yep, definitely funny.

County Farm Park

First successful climb through a tunnel, a bit more of a challenge since it was on an incline

making his way up, loved how it had bars at his level to hold onto and little steps that he could climb up easily

Theresa testing out the rock wall, another benefit to the structure, its good for all ages

checking out the pig in the gardens

Another mommy in Alex's class was talking about how much her toddler enjoyed this park, so we went for our visit today to check it out. It's great for toddlers. The stairs on the play structure are small so Alex was able to climb up himself. Under the structure there is sand to play in. There is also a way to pump water to make the sand play even more interesting. There are gardens nearby that were also fun to explore. And of course walking trails, but they are gravel so no good for rollerblading. Alex has limited tolerance for walking trails, at least in the middle of the day. At night, before bed, he tolerates them pretty well.

Puzzle Pro

Alex has mastered his puzzle this past week. I guess it's time for us to buy him some more challenging ones now that he has this one mastered and he showing more interest in puzzles.

Congratulations Bernadette!

Bernadette's highschool graduation party was yesterday. Alex had lots of fun watching all of his mom's cousins run around, seeing lots of grandmas and grandpas all at once, playing in the yard, watching the volleyball game, and enjoying his first bonfire.
