Three Weeks Old

Today is Luke's due date, but we already got to enjoy him for the past three weeks. Luke has proved to be a very easy going boy. I thought I was going to get a little stinker, but thankfully I have been proven wrong, at least temporarily. Thank goodness, he likes to sleep way more than Alex. Alex use to only sleep a half hour to an hour at a time and a total of eight to ten hours a day. It was exhausting. Luke sleeps two to two and half hours at a time and has little awake time (except for feedings) during the night (typically). He also eats a lot better than Alex too. Alex would need to be constantly coaxed along and Luke is "self-propelled". Good thing cause with two boys around I wouldn't have time for all that coaxing. I took Luke in for his three week check-up today and he is already nine pounds two ounces! He grew two and half inches too! His body structure is completely different than Alex's too. He is long and lean with long fingers, feet and toes. Unfortunately there will be no shoe hand me downs as Alex requires wides. His head size is in the fiftieth percentile unlike Alex who was always in the nineties. Hmm, another problem...all the hats will never match the hand-me-down coats. Oh well. So, I have been really bad about taking pictures. I was trying not to have a different amount than Alex, so I better start taking some more! Hope to share some soon.

Alex with Luke

Well it's been about a week now that Luke has been home. Alex has adjusted wonderfully to Luke. I thought he would and am glad I'm right. It's a little easier now because Kris has been home since Luke's birth and will return to work Monday. Then we'll really see how things go! But I've had the boys alone for short bits of time and even have fed Luke while Alex plays without a problem at all. We'll see what Monday brings though :)
Alex loves pointing out all his little parts and watches carefully as I care for him. He has been very good about being gentle. He likes to always know where Luke is and goes looking for him if he suddenly "disappears from his last spot. Alex has been a great big brother so far!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! We had a busy day with mass in the morning and lunch with Grandpa and Grandma Ericson, Great Grandma McDonald and Uncle Andy. Mommy went to see her family while Alex napped and then to Grandpa Phibbs for dinner.

Above is the massive carrot cake bunny I made. A new easter tradition for us. What's easter without the bunny cake?

The eggs before hiding, daddy took Alex outside to play with his new sand toys while I hid the eggs.
