The 4th of July

We went to the parade in the morning. It was great, cool weather this year.

They were so excited when they saw a lady passing out flags before the parade started

Please, I would like some candy, my mommy NEVER gives me candy
Yes, more please
We went home to eat some lunch and then went to the park

They were being bums about taking a picture, nothing some tickles can't fix

Michigan Balloon Challenge

Unfortunately it was too windy to see the air balloons this year. I was pretty bummed, but I think the boys didn't miss it one bit with yummy fair food dessert, a tour of Brad's plane and a firetruck. They were pretty happy little boys.
hugs from the godmother (well after he wrestled her to the ground)
Dessert!  So much dessert!  Alex picked vanialla ice cream and Luke a funnel cake (big doughnut he called it).  Usually dessert is about an 1/8 the size

After the dessert there was ALOT of sugar to run, roll, tackle and dance off
Time to see Brad's plane
Very excited!
Luke was hesitant at first, but after watching brother have fun, he thought he better have a turn too
I'm hoping they do not decide to do this for real when they are older!

Raining, Pouring

We have had a lot of rainy weather.  The boys still got out and with the rain boots and umbrellas.  They enjoy all the water in the "ditch" next to our house.  There have been something like a crayfish in it as well as frogs.

Independence Lake

We've been enjoying the time off of work and school to visits new places.  The boys enjoyed digging in the sand, having a picnic, and playing.  They actually both fell asleep in the car, a rarity these days.

Playing with Water is the Best

The boys love to play with water, not so much the pool, but the hose, water cans, spray bottles, tubs, etc.  It's nice that I can finally sit back and relax a bit or go in, crack open the window and make dinner while they playing.  Don't get me wrong there is still a lot of refereeing, but at least they can go five minutes or so without intervention.

The grass needs to be watered

Yes, I can lay back and relax a bit, finally

Visit with Great Grandpa and Grandma Ciolek

We visited my mother's parents on June 17th. It was great weather, so we were able to have a picnic at the park. The boys really enjoyed themselves (they are always up for a picnic). I'm glad we had this time together.

We'll Miss Alexandria!

Alexandria, our sitter will be getting married in September and will be moving away.  We will miss her a lot!  Here are some pictures she shared with me that she took while with the boys.
