Alex is 15 Months

I just wanted to take the time for a snapshot in time because as many of you know I keep this more to keep track of when things happened, but also a fun way to share pictures. He just went to his fifteen month check-up and is now 24 pounds and 30 inches, both in the 50th percentile, an average size boy. Except for the head of course, still in the 95th percentile, but after many scans and scary trips to the neurosurgeon, we know for sure only healthy stuff is in that head of his. Alex learned to walk about three weeks ago and now is toddling around the house easily. He just gained enough confidence today to walk in the grass without a finger to hold. He still does not say much (except a lot of noises), but understands everything. He follows all simple commands and is beginning to point out things in books when asked. He can stack any form of blocks (or things he perceives as blocks) as high up as he can reach. He definitely enjoys building things. He eats anything that is given to him, his favorite food is strawberries. If he catches sight of them and they are not offered to him there is a small temper tantrum. Yes, there is the beginning of tantrums where he clenches his fists, gets all red in the face, and throws his head back onto the floor, but they are brief and he is easily distracted. He is beginning to help out around the house too (well sort of). He likes to dust, feed the kitties, unload the dishwasher, put shoes on the shelf in the closet, his clothes in the hamper and loves to watch meal preparation. He still likes to read and will sit with me for a good half hour before bed. (My favorite time of day.) He's growing up so fast!

Revisiting the Slide

I have no idea how to turn this around, but I just love to hear him laugh, so I had to post it anyway.

A New Toy

One of mommy's co-workers sold this to us for a great price. It will bring us years of fun!

Petting Farm

Today was a beautiful day to go to the petting farm. Aunt Theresa came along with us, she took all the pictures so unfortunately we don't have any pictures with her.

Alex liked watching the ducks the best. He loved watching them swim around and flap their wings.

He thought it was pretty cool that these animals didn't run away when he tried to pet them, like our cats.

Looking at all the cows from the hayride.

Alex liked to watch all the other kids on the hayride too. He may have found them more interesting than the animals.

Ah, the goats, I had to hurry and take the picture before the big one in the back ate the stroller!

Mix It Up

I clip of Alex's love for cooking and baking. As you can see by the mess, he was "helping" me for some time.

An Afternoon at the Park

Finishing up a snack while dad gets on his rollerblades

At the end of the trail

Alex really enjoyed the slide, as you can see. Too bad he can't climb up himself.
