Play Hose!

"Play Hose" is what you will here from Alex if you ask him what he wants to do. I added a new spin today by giving him shaving cream, a sponge and a spray bottle. Amazing how simple things can keep kids so entertained. Luke watched the action happily from the stroller.

Dinner at the Hopwoods

We had dinner with the Hopwoods and Great Grandma McDonald last Sunday. We messed up slightly and waited until we were about to leave around eight to take this picture. It was a pretty funny sight as all kids were having their own problems due to tiredness. At first we tried to just get just the kids and Grandma in the picture, but it was complete chaos. It came out really good with the help of the parents. Kris and Jennifer are first cousins. I'm still trying to figure out the name to the relationship between our children (i.e. Hunter to Alex)?

A Few of Luke...

I haven"t gotten around to taking his three month blanket picture yet. But here are a few others.

Luke has not been sleeping well lately thanks to his bad stomach. By the morning I have had enough and take him into bed until Alex wakes up. He sleeps so much more soundly next to me.

Legally Stealing

One of my hobbies is seeing how much I can save on our weekly grocery bill. I have been getting better and better at it as I learn new tricks and places to look. Now it has grown into a fun game. I don't think I will be able to beat this one though, so I had to take a picture. I got all this for two dollars! Yes, you read that correctly two dollars. I think I will only be able to match this deal otherwise they would have to pay me to take away their products.

The 4th Water Fun

Since it was so hot on the 4th we had a relaxing day at home. We invited my parents along with Veronica and Dominic over to play with the water toys in the yard. We had some ice cream treats and lit a few sprinklers. Alex was more interested in playing with the hose than anything. It's his favorite outside toy. Luke just enjoyed being outside as usual even if it was hot.

Summer Afternoon at the Park

Such a beautiful summer afternoon today. We spent a few hours and ate lunch in the Children's Garden at the Botanical Gardens.

New Use For the Bjorn

Over the past couple of weeks Alex has grown to love Curious George stories. I think we read them at least twenty times a day. Luckily we have a large book with ten different ones so we are not reading the same one over and over. He use to completely ignore the book until I showed him the story about a cake with candles and how George tries to make frosting using the mixer. Alex loves the mixer (and practically everything else that plugs in). So, we started reading that story about ten times a day (per request by Alex) until I finally convinced him they were all equally good. Last week, I realized he has them all memorized. I stopped mid sentence to do something with Luke and he said the next word. So, I did it purposefully and he never failed to fill in the next word. Later, I found out it was true for all his books. Just the past few days Alex began to carry his monkey around too, as he greatly resembles George.
