Alex's Writing
Alex has really grown in a lot of skills lately. Letters were never one of his interests when he was little. He would run the other way with any mention of sight of letters. He finally learned the names of letters last January. Now, just a year later he knows the sounds, reading basic words, attempting spelling and writing a story with a beginning, middle and end. Way to go Alex!
| Cute ornament he made at school. We didn't get it until he finally went back to school since he was out with the flu the week before Christmas. |

Back Outside
These were taken on the 8th, when it got a bit warmer (in the teens), so the kids could go out briefly.
Frozen
These were taken on the evening of the 6th, as things got really cold. I ventured out to take some pictures of the sunset. Chilly!
| Frost began covering the garage doorknob and around the outside of the door, most of windows had frost on them. My friends commented that some found frost on their ceilings! |
Here Comes the Snow
On January 5th, we got over a foot of snow the night before we were suppose to go back to school after a three week break from school (one for the flu and two weeks planned). We then had a really cold spell, getting to -35 at night, causing and additional three days off of school and an hour wait for food at Meijer the day before the storm. The boys enjoyed playing in the snow as it was coming down when it was still pretty warm.
