There is only one more week until Alex turns two!

Top 10 at 2

I try to take the time once in awhile to take a "snap shot" in time and describe Alex, so we won't forget how he was when he was at certain age. Here are my favorite things of "just turning two". Hard to believe his birthday is next Saturday already!

1. Random "leg hugs". We love how Alex runs up to us and gives us big hugs throughout the day.

2. Double finger pointing. When Alex is excited to see you, he has a big smile on his face, puts his hands up to his head and points his index fingers. It almost looks like horns.

3. Waving to say "hi". Alex will just randomly wave at the cats or us. Just to say "hi". Always with his smile. This is already fading as he learned to say "hi" and now he runs up to you and says "hi, hi, hi".

4. His great big laugh. I have to record this at some point.

5. His cute face. He's got great curly thick hair, the cutest apple cheeks, the longest eyelashes, a sweet round nose and big blue/hazel eyes.

6. When he runs to greet you when you come in the house. Usually this involves #2 and #3.

7. When he rests his chin on hands. Just too precious, especially when he is laying on his tummy and has his feet kicking in the air.

8. How he learns everything so quickly. Everyday is filled with "new" things. It is fun to "see" the world through a two-year-old's eyes, everything is so new.

9. The growing expressive language skills. Each day he is a little easier to understand and we get to know him just a little better. To bad the strong will is growing with this one each day.

10. The growing independence. He loves to be given little jobs and feel like a helper. He will make a great big brother!

29 weeks

Yes, baby Phibbs has done some growing the past four weeks! He now weighs four pounds, two ounces (90th percentile) I am waving goodbye to my thoughts of having a natural delivery. However, after the conversation with the doctor this morning she still thinks its a possibility. I guess we will talk more once I get to 36 weeks or so. After our ultrasound on Monday we were also amazed to find out that the threat of early delivery had simply disappeared. It is wonderful to move around and not feel like my water could break any second. Too bad, its much harder to move around now, but I'm in the home stretch. Freedom to move around easily will come soon enough. Hopefully sooner than later, the rate this baby is growing! All restrictions have been lifted and I am able to go about life as usual. Just in time for Alex's birthday!

Valentine's Day Traditions

chocolate chip heart cookie from Grandma Porter, yes he is holding the plate up for the picture

made Valentine's and put them in a bag to pass out to those that visit this week

"helping" with the cookies, found it more fun to fill the cutters with flour

taking a break from the flour to cut some cookies out

had to sneak a taste before they were frosted

putting on the sprinkles, mommy adapted the sprinkle can with a piece of tape so only one hole was uncovered, that way they did not turn into "dumpers" this time, he actually had to shake it

Pictures Taken by Bernadette

Haha Just Had to Do It!

Guess this is what happens when you are bored and have helpers. Bernadette brought her camera over from her photography class and was practicing taking photos. So, we already had him dressed and in the picture taking mode. Veronica wrapped him up in a blanket, stood him in the snow, we got a cute shot, wrapped him back up and took him in. So, don't worry, I generally make sure my child has his coat on when its snowy outside :) Lol, I'm already to send out my Christmas cards.

Hugs for Juggling

One of my Favorite Things

Ah, the vacuum cleaner. One of Alex's most favorite things. So many things about it to love; the way it plugs in, the long orange cord, the tubes that fit into each other, the noise it makes. I would swear he thought it was part of the family as much as he loves it to be the room with us and waves to it as he passes it by. It's name is "bee-hoe". But, he calls all chargers, plug covers, power cords, and buckles this. At first I thought he was saying "into". But perhaps its "in hole" as all of these things have stuff you put into holes. Not sure, perhaps the words will become more clear and I will be able to know for sure. Hopefully, his love for the vacuum will endure, so that he can be our permanent vacuum operator when he is old enough.

Making "Bird" Feeders

We made "bird" feeders with Dominic and Veronica this morning.
