Happy Birthday Dominic!

Alex got a gift too. Great Grandma Porter was sick and unable to make it to Alex's party. He was excited to get a new car!

I have never seen a car like this. Both boys really like it. You have to shake it to make it go, the more you shake it, the farther it goes.

So Sick

I have not taken pictures for awhile, almost two weeks, because the kids have been under the weather. First we were a bit green and then very snotty. We have fully recovered from all illness and are enjoying our spring break. Both Alex and I are off. I am reaping the benefits of having a school-based job in the same district as my child, matching breaks! I still worked at Leaps and Bounds on Wednesday as usual, but one day of work for the week is very nice. We have been enjoying the spring weather and getting ready for Easter, so pictures have resumed.

Great Grandma McDonald's Birthday

We went over to the Hopwood's to celebrate Great Grandma's birthday.

Alex was pretty excited to see that Grandma got a "computer" just like his. I think he thought about it a bit on the way home though. As soon as he got home he wanted to make sure his was still there. Amazing how his mind works. Did he think that Grandma and Grandpa Ericson took it back and gave it to Great Grandma? That's pretty complex thinking if you ask me.

Everyone wanted to help open Grandma's presents.

All sitting and in one place, thanks to Curious George.

Mommy's 31st

I had a great birthday. Kris and I went out Tuesday night for dinner since I typically work late on Wednesday nights (I see kids privately once a week and have to work late to accommodate the after school hours.) It ended up that my last three clients cancelled and so I went home at 4:30 anyway. That never happens so, it was a pretty great birthday surprise. We had a pizza party in the fort. My mom made the cake for me seen in the picture.

Theresa watched the kids Tuesday night and made cards with them and left them in the playroom. In the morning Alex ran downstairs, went and got the card and ran it to me saying "Happy Birthday Mommy. I made a card for you." It was so sweet! Luke made the other. He didn't remember, but Alex tried to give it to Kris saying he made it for daddy (I guess so he didn't feel left out).

No one wanted to get candles/matches, so I pretended after they sang.

Luke is always delighted to have cake.

Alex on the other hand didn't want any cake (pretty typical for him, must take after his Uncle Andy). He's looking to get back to playing. One of the many ways they are polar opposites.

Ready for Bed

Last week Luke started needing this bear when he goes to bed. This weekend he decided he also needed "bunny". They are both Alex's animals, but he Alex doesn't seem to notice or care. I'm a little worried about how many animals he is going to need in his bed if he continues to add one a week.

Lots of Outside Play Time

The boys have been needing to get to bed early with all this outside play time. They can't get enough!

A Few Quick Pics

A snapped a few quick photos while last Sunday while we were waiting for Kris to get ready for church.

Alex's 4th Birthday Party!

It was Bob the Builder theme this year. He watches it occasionally on TV, but overall I think it best fit him this year. since Bob the Builder is out of print I had to utilize Ebay and some creativity for decorations. I bought one item at a time from many people to piece things together.

My mom brought these great cookies.

Playing circuits with Aunt Bernadette, there is one that you can make it "sing" Happy Birthday"

Building as usual

Very focused

Grandma telling him about the gift he opened.

Grandpa showing him his DVD player. He loves to watch "home movies" on the computer. He kept calling it his computer to watch movies on. Funny thing is, he has never watched more than 20 minutes of an actual movie. The fact that it came with a charger and remote is definitely a plus.

Wow, this is pretty cool.

Dramatic opening, the pillows that Grandma Porter made

Playing with Rob

Grandpa Phibbs gave him this truck that comes apart, goes back together, makes noises and runs on its own. I think it will keep him busy, a long time.

Luke playing "where's Luke" with Rob

Alex is getting over a cold, so we used the big cookie Grandma Porter made to avoid coughing and blowing all over the cake.

Pretty happy boy!

I hear a lot of people complain that boys are so boring, but I had a lot of fun making this cake. Alex just smiled and smiled to himself as he giggled when he saw it in the morning. I think it was better than he imagined it would be.

It was checkerboard pattern, to match Bob's shirt!

Me and my birthday boy, a typical 4 year old pose.

This one is a little better

Chocolate!

While Alex was at school, Luke "helped" me make the frosting to decorate his birthday cake. As soon as he saw it was looking like something chocolate, he continued to say "lick, lick" and become more and more desperate. I tied him over with some chocolate chips, but as soon as I turned around to get a bowl to put it in, his tongue was on the beater! He loves his chocolate.

YUM!
