Sweet Peas

I just had to take a picture of this as its a daily occurance in our home. So, I am trying to make dinner and what can I give Alex to entertain him? That's right...peas! Not just regular peas, frozen peas! You would think it was ice cream the way he acts. He gets so angry if I try to heat them up, so frozen peas it is, probably healthier that way anyway. Silly boy!

35 weeks

from the front can't tell so much

from the side, sticking out a bit :)

Since my last baby Phibbs post I have been enjoying not being on bed rest. It has been nice to return to work and get a chance to get caught up and prepared before I leave again. I have been amazed how I easily I was able to jump off the couch and just get back to life. I figured I would really be dragging after sitting around for 11 weeks as I grew larger and larger. But, I have done really well and actually feel better then I did with Alex. But I have gained a lot less weight and am not having blood pressure problems this time around which must be making a difference of how I feel. My hernia pain has finally gone away and now I am enjoying this giant "window" to baby Phibbs. It's just so thin you can feel everything. The other day I was able to feel all his knuckles and actually feel how big his hand was. I little weird I know but its pretty entertaining.

It's not much longer now until we actually get to see him. 30 days or less until baby Phibbs is "evicted". I have a scheduled c-section on April 29th at 8am. Until then it's up to him if he wants to come earlier. I found out yesterday that I am already 1cm dilated and 70% effaced. Hmm, maybe my body learned a lesson with Alex that if you don't do anything that baby gets really big!

Alex is is very aware that his brother is in my belly. The other day we found one of his old baby rattles under the couch. I talked about how his brother will be able to play with that soon. He instantly lifted up my shirt and put it against my belly. He often randomly gives hugs and kisses to my belly. Which is so interesting to me that he knows to do this as I have never told him to or encouraged him to do so. He just decided to on his own. I'm trying to warn him that his brother is going to cry and need to be taken care of by mommy. But, I think this one is going to take a little time to get use to. We'll see how it goes. In the meantime, I have tried to be strict about giving mommy time to get things done while he plays on his own. He actually is getting better about entertaining himself for twenty minutes at a time, which will be very helpful. Alex's language is growing everyday, which makes him more independent and easier to care for as he can quickly express his needs. I'm so looking forward to seeing Alex as a big brother. He'll be a great one!

How To Make a Mess in a Matter of Minutes...

One of daddy's creations...a bean machine. They fly all around as you put them in the top and then they all come tumbling out of the bottom. Great fun until its time to clean up. Good thing we took pictures and video because it was quickly dismantled once it was all cleaned up. When mommy plays with the beans, we try to keep them in the designated containers. Guess that's why daddy is so much fun to play with.

Mommy's 29th

My mom brought cake and ice cream over Saturday night. Of course Alex had to help me blow out the candles. The little girl on the cake is "to make Alex more excited about the cake", but perhaps mom is said her kids are all grown up and she doesn't get to make cutesy fun ones anymore :)

Yep, pretty excited to get another chance to blow out candles

one more left...

ah, all blown out

Veronica and Dominic with their ice cream sundaes, just had to get out the ice cream dishes:)
On my birthday, we went to Kris' mothers for brunch (I forgot my camera, so I don't have pictures) and then to dinner at the Melting Pot. Thanks mom for watching Alex while we went to church by ourselves and then to a long dinner!

First Trip to Hands On Museum

Hard to believe but we have haven't taken Alex to the Hands on Museum until today, Kris finally got him there. Kris, Alex, and Grandpa Phibbs met the Hopwoods there, while I stayed home and caught up on work stuff. He ended up getting a year pass, so its most likely we will now be going often. Looks like they had a fun time!

Funfetti Beehoe Birthday

What type of cake is this you may ask. It's all of Alex's favorites. "Bee-hoes" he calls them. He loves outlets, chargers, cell phones and the color orange.

His invites for his "bee-hoe" birthday party.

I Got That Laugh

I finally got the chance to record that laugh of Alex's. He gets so distracted by the camera, it was hard to catch. But I have it now forever and ever :) That's why half the time you can't even see him. I was trying not to call attention to myself or the camera.
